I have been teaching secondary mathematics and science for over 25 years. Most recently I have specialised in offering bespoke reasoning activities and challenges in maths and science for 10 to 13 year olds. I am editor of the Maths Association special needs publication Equals and so I am very keen to support all children to develop their mathematical thinking. I can tailor a program of engaging and motivating activities to support and prepare children in Key Stages 2 and 3 to develop the thinking necessary for higher level thinking at 16. I am a qualified Zoologist and so can offer support in Biology up to GCSE level.More
I can provide help and support for both science and mathematics for students aged 10 - 13.I can support SEND pupils to develop the skills they need to enhance and develop their thinking.
My first love was Biology and so I can offer help up to GCSE level for students in Years 7 - 11.

My son is not a great fan of maths but lessons with Alan have really helped. Alan’s interactive lessons have helped to improve my sons maths. But most of all my son looks forward to his maths lessons every week.
