Summary

I have been teaching English in schools for ten years and have experience teaching classes encompassing a range of different additional needs. I have also worked as a tutor for seven years, supporting students with remote learning. I am a GCSE examiner with multiple exam boards.

Experience

I have been teaching English in secondary schools for a decade. During this time I have taught a wide range of classes ranging from year 7 Phonics up to A Level English Literature, including students with a range of SEND needs and students for whom English is an additional language.

Additionally, I have been working as a tutor for the last seven years. During this time I have worked with students aged from 4 to adult in a range of different contexts, though I specialise in online tuition, supporting students with remote learning.

I also work as a GCSE examiner for multiple exam boards, and have almost completed an doctorate in Education (EdD).

I am expecting a baby in May 2025, so I am available to support with revision in the run up to exams, but am not currently taking on any longer-term clients as I will be taking a few months off from May.

Sally proved to be an excellent tutor and made a huge difference to the learning and understanding which our son had struggled with. Communication was excellent and always options where we needed to change a time or Sally did. The final result was great and the contribution Sally made to this cannot be underestimated. He'd struggled at school in Scotland, then in England, but in the few months with Sally came on leaps and bounds. We will forever be grateful. An excellent tutor.
